The Thumb Caddy is a new golf training aid on the market that focuses on the starting point for all golfers: the grip. By stabilizing the thumb, the grip stays in its proper position throughout the swing resulting in increased muscle memory, and straighter more consistent shots.
The Thumb Caddy is the brain child of Walter Robinson, a fitness consultant and life-long golf enthusiast. "I kept slicing and hooking," said Robinson. "I knew that I needed a better way to keep my grip from slipping during my swing. Without the right grip, I had no control over my swing or the position of the club face." This inspiration lead Walter down the road of invention, and in the end he created an affordable, easy to use training tool that helps develop a controlled grip and a more effective swing.
Simplicity is the key. Just Snap It, Fit It and Grip It. The Thumb Caddy fits on the shaft of any club and can be used by both right and left handed players. Right-handed golfers rest their left thumb in the Thumb Caddy to ensure proper grip position; left-handed golfers rest their right thumb into the Thumb Caddy to ensure grip alignment. This small, rubber coated device ensures the perfect grip and the correct club alignment every time by keeping your thumb in its proper place. With a solid grip, everything else falls into place to develop a more effective and repeatable swing.
The Thumb Caddy's unique design also prevents gripping the handle too tightly, what's commonly known as "the death grip". The rule of thumb: hold the club lightly enough to allow for plenty of wrist freedom and feel, but firmly enough to maintain control throughout the swing. That's where the Thumb Caddy can give anyone a hand.
The Thumb Caddy is for everyone from recreational golfers, juniors, novices and PGA teaching pros working with their students, to scratch golfers looking to reinforce proper mechanics.
The Thumb Caddy is purchased in a three-pack with instructional DVD.
